Dear Mr Thompson
1 have been approached by the management of the Logan Community Radio 101 FM regarding the operation of an narrowcaster, Mr Jeff Shaw, who is operating in Logan City
The Station tells me that this operation is apparently outside the published guidelines for narroweasters from a programme and technical point.
Operating on FM 88 the programmes come complete with time calls, general information and according to their programme guide in the Brisbane Courier Mail their regular programming has Breakfast, Country Music, Sport etc.
I understand that they transmit from Springwood Heights using a high gain antenna allowing them a coverage area of up to 10 klms from the site.
101 FM believes that if the operation goes unchecked, ultimately there could be a proliferation of such operators which could grievously harm bona-fide broadcasters.
Yours sincerely
